Attending the Centennial Celebration of Universidad Adventists del Plata was for me like opening the door to a wonderful new world. I had been to the school and hospital once before, but it was over twenty years ago. So much progress had been made and the campus had grown so considerably. I had never before had the opportunity to experience such Argentinean hospitality. My hosts attended to every detail and my every need.
I soon learned that to shake hands was almost a breach of etiquette. Every new fnend or old embraced each other with generous hugs and kisses. I certainly missed the hugs and kisses after I came home and any hand shake seemed extremely dull.
I was impressed greatly by the wealth of the talent in the university. The night we arrived a pageant on the history of the school was given, and it was an excellent production that would compete with any I have seen. They even had a live horse-drawn carriage coming down the center aisle of the auditorium with the participating people in period costume. The musical presentations were outstanding with superior chorus, orchestra and band. The President of Argentina attended one day and made a very complimentary speech. There were activities at all times and throughout my entire stay there. I have never been made to feel more welcomed nor cherished. I, in turn, cherished every moment that I was there and look forward to returning at any time for any purpose.
